Dr. Lyotard insists on continuing to offer braces to her adult patients, as she finds a number of her adults continue to prefer braces over our clear aligner options due to their wear them and “forget them” convenience. Additionally she is unwilling to compromise on a patients care by limiting herself to a one options fits all approach. We offer both Clear Braces made from sapphire crystal as well as state of the art metal self ligating braces to patients in our Preston Center Dallas orthodontic office. In both cases she uses state of the art self-ligating brackets made here in the U.S. from safe FDA approved materials.
Depending on the complexity of the correction needed braces treatments typically range between $2750 and $6500.
Metal braces tend to be a little faster than clear braces there is less friction between the brackets and the wires allowing the teeth to glide more smoothly into there new position.
Overall, in reality, neither braces nor clear aligners are any faster or slower than the other. On case by case basis, depending on each patients unique needs, one technology may be a tad faster than the other. That’s one of the many reasons we choose to continue to offer both technology options to our patients, because we want each patient to have the treatment option that is the best fit for their needs.
